Mark joined the organization in January 2019, after relocating from St. Petersburg, Florida. Mark is originally from a small town in Western Pennsylvania. He has both a Bachelor of Social Work and an MBA. He is a licensed Nursing Home Administrator in Florida and Ohio. He has worked in senior living in various capacities for almost 35 years and is passionate about making life better for others and being a dad to his now six year old son, Elijah. In his spare time he plays tag and hide and seek, builds robots with Legos, and makes a mess in the kitchen.
Lisha Galloway has been an invaluable member of the Edenwald team since joining in the spring of 2010. Her dedication and expertise have made a significant impact across the continuum of program services, particularly in the Memory Care and Long-Term Care units. Lisha’s outstanding contributions led her to the role of Volunteer Manager and subsequently the Programming Director for Edenwald’s Independent Living in 2017. Currently, Lisha serves as Vice President of Resident Services and Institutions of Higher Education. In her current role, Lisha oversees campus-wide Resident Services, In-Residence Programs, Osher Lifelong Learning, and Intergenerational partnerships.
As an Edenwald Scholarship Award recipient, Lisha obtained her BASW from Millersville University in Lancaster, PA. Additionally, she holds certifications as a National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners (NCCDP) and a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the Workplace Certificate, underscoring her commitment to excellence. Looking ahead, Lisha is set to pursue her MSW in the fall of 2025, further enhancing her ability to positively impact the community and those she serves. In her free time, Lisha enjoys spending time with her family, enjoying a good book paired with a great wine.
Dawn joined Edenwald as the Director of Human Resources in July of 2019. Dawn holds a Master of Arts Degree in Business Administration from Notre Dame College of Maryland and a Bachelor of Science Degree in English from Towson University. She previously served as a Human Resources Manager at Erickson Senior Living and as a Senior HR Business Partner at Remedi Senior Care before coming to Edenwald. She holds dual professional HR certifications from the Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM-CP) and the HR Certification Institute (PHR) since 2007. Dawn also received her Diversity, Equity and Inclusion certification from the HR Certification Institute.
With 20 years of experience in Human Resources, Dawn’s passion and dedication are instrumental in moving Edenwald forward and making Edenwald an employer of choice. What Dawn enjoys most about her job is navigating employees through difficult life events and making a positive impact in their lives. Working for a mission driven organization allows her the opportunity to make meaningful connections with the residents and staff of Edenwald.
Dawn was born and raised in Baltimore. She and her husband have a son and a daughter who both graduated from the University of Maryland. Her hobbies include spin cycling, gardening, reading, and relaxing at her sister’s beach house. Dawn has been in a book club for 20 years with seven women whom she cherishes their friendship, wisdom and insight. Dawn’s favorite pastime is playing with her first grandson Francisco.
Meghan has worked at Edenwald for over 23 years in various different positions, starting as a waitress in the dining room when she was in high school! She stayed at Edenwald while pursuing her education, which now includes a BS in Psychology from Stevenson University, as well as a Masters’ Degree from the University of MD School of Social Work with a concentration in aging. Meghan is also licensed as a Master Social Worker in the state of Maryland. She puts the wellbeing of our residents above all else, and is always thinking outside the box to solve the unique problems that she is often presented. When she is not supporting our residents, she enjoys spending time with her family. She has two children, aged 10 and 7, and a wonderful husband. They love to take family trips to Ocean City in the summer.
David Brown, Vice President, Chief Information and Equity Officer, joined Edenwald Senior Living in 2013. He utilizes over 20 years of experience to oversee all aspects of information technology from infrastructure to cybersecurity. Prior to joining Edenwald, David worked for the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington, D.C., where he received the Congressional Award for Outstanding Achievement, Service and Public Distinction. In addition to overseeing IT at Edenwald, his role has evolved to help lead and implement Edenwald’s diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging initiatives. He is DEI certified and serves as Chair of the Edenwald DEIB Committee. He is also Co-Chair of the LeadingAge DEIB workgroup, Co-Chair of LeadingAge Leaders of Color Maryland Network and Vice-Chair of the Leaders of Color National Advisory Board. When he is not in the office, David loves spending time with his family. He enjoys cooking, traveling internationally and is an avid fisherman and boater.
Bill has served as Director of Culinary Services here at Edenwald since November 2019, and came to us as a Certified Dietary Manager with an AA in Professional Cooking and Baking. He also has over 20 years of experience as a Chef, Pastry Chef, and Baker, with 8 of those years being in healthcare and senior living. When he’s not building the perfect menu for our residents, he enjoys sharing his passions for painting, gardening, baking-cooking, camping, fishing, hiking, surfing and most recently astrophotography and light painting with his 3 kids and wife. However, he continues to find great satisfaction in these activities in quiet solitude as well.
Karen has served as the Director of Environmental Services at our community for over 4 years now, and she loves it so much she plans to retire from Edenwald! She has worked in the Environmental Services field for over 40 years, starting when she was 19 years old, and has served as a trainer for OSHA and other services in the industry. Karen sees it as her responsibility to provide all residents a clean and wonderful environment to live in, and prides herself on the exemplary work of her team. Interacting with residents is one of her favorite parts of the job, and seeing how impactful a simple, “Good morning, beautiful!” can be for a resident’s mood. When she’s not at work, Karen is a single Mom who enjoys spending time with her beloved 2 children and 1 grandchild. She enjoys watching TV shows that make her laugh, and loves to occasionally drive in silence with the windows open to smell the fresh air.
Roland joined Edenwald in August 2018, and came to us as a graduate of Calvert Hall High School (right down the street!), Towson University, and is also a CPA. He loves that each day is different here at Edenwald, and enjoys each new challenge and opportunity to serve the senior community. When he is not here in the office, Roland loves being able to enjoy the outdoors, travel, and explore what the future may hold.
Aira has served as the Director of Nursing here at Edenwald since September 2019. She graduated from Towson State University with a BS Nursing, and subsequently entered a storied career of over 20 years as a Registered Nurse, with many of those years as a Director of Nursing for different organizations. She is married, and proudly raised four adult children and a dog. In her free time, Aira loves spoiling her Labradoodle named Reno, shopping, and binge-watching television. She lives by the motto, “Failure is not an option!”
